Default from ME to XP

i put in the xp disk, but the d: drive says there is no
disk. Prior to this, the d: drive read the ME disk, now it
won't read that. I have a back up disk for the a: drive,
but now that won't read either. what do i do?

You can boot from the XP disk and then upgrade ME to XP.

You will have to go into the BIOS and make your CD ROM drive the first
bootable device to do it.
