You can upgrade Win 98 to Win Me using the appropriate Win Me CD but first
check that you have the necessary Win Me drivers for your hardware.

I have purchased ME. I have some files that will work only
with 98, and would like to have ME on the same HD. Is this
possible?

To multi-boot between two Win 9x systems you will need to use a third party
boot manager. Suitable products worth investigating are Boot Magic which is
part of PowerQuest's Partition Magic (now unfortunately owned by Symantec so
how for much longer this application will remain usable is open to question)
(http://www.powerquest.com/partitionmagic/) and BootIt NG from Terabyte
Unlimited (http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/).
