Default Invisible font

System H-P Pavilion 9600, 256 Mb ram

This computer can't see a font in the font folder when looking with
Explorer. Word Perfect, Word 6/7, and Wordpad can't see it either. It
doesn't appear in the registry. But I can see the font in the folder if
I use another computer on the network with with Explorer.

I deleted the font using the second computer, then tried to install it
using the Control Panel. But the select font box can't see it, so I
can't install it. I then exported the font part of the registry and
added the font manually using Wordpad, and then imported the section
back into the registry. Regedit can't see the font.

For all intents and purposes, this font is completely invisible to this
H-P computer. Any hints on how to make it visible so that I can install
it properly?

After you delete the font file from the font folder using another computer,
copy the font file to another location and install it from that location.

Thank you for the advice. That's exactly what I tried, but the font is
invisible to the installer under the Control Panel, so I can't install
it. In fact, Explorer can't see the font that I saved in a temp folder
either.

If Explorer can't see it the installer won't. What exactly is the file and
where are you copying it from and to?

It should not be possible to copy a file to a location on the PC and still
have it invisible to Explorer, unless the file properties are being set as
hidden and you have Explorer configured to ignore hidden files.

The font is Calligrapher, and the font name is calligr0.ttf. I was
finally successful by copying the font to a floppy, carrying it over to
the H-P computer, and instaling it from the floppy.

Thank you for all the attention you paid to helping me.
