Question for Mike M, Foxit
Heather (from another newsgroup) suggested that I pose my question he
When a .pdf link is provided as a response to a Google search (for example) Adobe Reader is able to open and display it directly. I did not have such luck with Foxit. Or does Foxit require that the link be loaded into memory before it can see it? If I totally remove Adobe Reader from the computer, but retaining Foxit, will this work? Many thanks, Ken Bland |

Question for Mike M, Foxit
You can only have one application associated with files with a PDF
extension although more than one of the applications you have installed may have that capability. Changing that application to Foxit should solve your problem. No need to remove Acrobat. -- Mike Maltby Justin Thyme wrote: Heather (from another newsgroup) suggested that I pose my question he When a .pdf link is provided as a response to a Google search (for example) Adobe Reader is able to open and display it directly. Question for Mike M, Foxit
Thanks, Mike. I wasn't sure how to answer Ken's question, but I did
have a couple of my own. I got rid of Adobe 6.0.1 and now have Foxit only on here. While I was looking for an answer to Ken's question, I hit 'update' and there were about 4 or 5 plugin type things. One was to do with Java, IIRC. Did you download all of those?? Cheers.....Heather PS......for those who might want to reload Adobe Reader 6, it is available on www.oldversion.com .. along with a whole truckload of newer old versions of things. Direct link is http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=acrobat "Mike M" wrote in message ...
