Default CPU and fan speed monitoring/bios vs. program readings

Using a ME on a SONY VAIO ,I have 2 programs[SpeedFan 426 and asus
Tempester] installed.
Both show cpu temps, speedfan shows both temp and fan speed.

The temps are about the same in both but don't match my hardware monitor
temps. My bios pwoer settings show 57C\135F for CPU temp while the
programs show 100F.

What should I believe? Before I fixed the overheating problem[see above
posts] the bios temp of 177F would cause problems. The programs showed
140F. Now with power fan fixed the bios CPU tems shows 135F and
computer works fine.

Is the bios referring to the cpu core, and the other two programs just
referring to the cpu?

I haven't got back here to now.
I don't know where the bios is reading from.I gave back the computer.I
did a home visit yesterday and the cpu temp is at 150F.The fan is
failing on power supply even after i cleaned it. The cpu fan spins at
5500RPM.The tower really should of had an exhaust fan on back of chassis.
