Default winword.exe

My computer tells me it can not find "winword.exe". It has only happened a
couple times, but now it is preventing my daughter from working on an online
class. I have Windows 98 and I have tried to search for the file and I can't
find it either.
What does winword.exe start? My wordpad works fine. Does anyone know what I
should do? I would appreciate any advice. Thank You, Kay

Default winword.exe

Winword.exe is the executable file for Microsoft WORD. But if you don't
have WORD then it could be a trojan. The message you are seeing would occur
if your anti-virus detected and quarantined the file, but you did not remove
the infection correctly.
