Process Explorer for Win98?
Hello:
I tried a Google of "TaskInfo last freeware version" and got this: "TaskInfo 1.0 (last freeware version)" at: http://www.321download.com/LastFreeware/page11.html . The actual download link is: http://www.321download.com/LastFreew...s/tskinf9x.zip . According to this, v1.0 was the first and last freeware version. I also Googled "TaskInfo 2.2.1.4" to see if I could come up with a freeware hit for that version. But all of the results seemed to be the warez, crack, and serial type of web sites. Is there a site where a freeware edition of 2.2.1.4 can be found? Thanks, Jerry "thanatoid" wrote in message ... "Robert A. Macy" wrote in oups.com: http://www.iarsn.com/taskinfo.html I still run ver 2.2.1.4, the free one - lacks a few features - out of curiosity as to their value, I tried a cracked version and found the additional features made the program "worse". No, I didn't get a virus or had the computer slow down - the add'l features just hindered /basic/ usability more than anything else. I'm sure they are useful for more advanced users. So I deleted the cracked version and have been using the free "limited" version happily for what, 7 - 8 years? More? It appears even the latest version will run on ALL 32-bit Windows but I believe there is no more limited-features free version. So you might want to try various older ones until you run into one that stops working after 30 days (or however he has that set up) and use the last before that. Unless you want to pay - which the author certainly deserves. I use the program at least once whenever I run my computer but I have not seen any need for even trying any of the later improved (and bigger, of course) versions. Anyway, I find the program just excellent. See what you think. -- Lots of theoretical butchers are alleged and other bloody eyes are suitable, but will Pam secure that? |

SNIP According to this, v1.0 was the first and last freeware version. There is a difference between "free" ware and "some features disabled unless you buy" ware. Did you go to the site I gave you the URL for? http://www.iarsn.com/archive/tskinf30.zip Allows you to DL ver 3.0.10.23. Many later versions also available. This version 3.* MAY be "some features disabled" or it may "be 30 days and then buy or nothing" (there is a variety of ways of getting around that, but I won't go into that). DL it and find out. Is there a site where a freeware edition of 2.2.1.4 can be found? The simplest reply is that I can post it to a file-sharing site for you, no binaries access at the moment. (Again, see my first sentence above.) Let me know. -- Lots of theoretical butchers are alleged and other bloody eyes are suitable, but will Pam secure that? |

It will unzip to a file named "cctask.123". Just rename it to cctask.exe and you're done. |
