Default Trojan

Help! I have AVG anti-virus software and today a screen
flashed up saying AVG...a Trojan found in Temporary
Internet Folder...do I want to enable it? In the corner
of the screen were seconds counting down and the only
option to press was No button, which I did. But now I'm
worried that I pressed No when I shouldn't have.

I'm running a complete virus check on my computer now but
that will take several hours to finish. Is there a quick
way I can check if I have a Trojan?

If AVG detected a Trojan, you did the right thing. No is.... Good. :-) It's
in the Temp files? Empty them, that'll get rid of it. IE OptionsGeneral
tabDelete filesdelete all off-line contentYesOK your way out.

In the future you can use AVG (or most all other programs) to scan
selectively. With AVG do this: Tool menutestscustom testaccess the
location to selectively scanstart scan. :-)

BTW, some AV programs can detect *some* Trojans. Some Anti-Spyware Programs
can detect some "viruses", and most (but not all) Trojans, spyware, malware,
etc. One normally might have several programs to deal with the varieties of
things that abound in the vast WWW.

Only use trusted, known, time tested products. Be aware of "rip-off,
sound-alike" products.

You can also employ on-line scans for a "back-up/ verification" of a
suspected pest which may be detected by your on board equipment.

Quick and basic scans from any of the following sites:

The above scanner works differently from most; it is a server based scanner,
and will only scan individual files, or directories which are limited to 1
MB in total size. It will not do a full system scan.
