Monitor in device-manager is correct!
Screen resolution is already set at 800x600x16! Performance slider was one of the first things i tried! I trawled through the knowledge base as soon as this happened but there is nothing that applies to this problem! thanks grayman -----Original Message----- grayman wrote: Ok Ok i missed the word "it!" my appologies It came with the computer from Tiny a "bundle" Works/Encarta/Autoroute etc! I tried a reinstall and it worked the first time but bout an hour later it happened again its perturbing to say the least thanks grayman Probably more perturbing than trying to find info on an app that somebody insists they have that doesn't seem to exist g When you said "I think my graphics drivers are up-to- date" was that "I went to nVidia's website and downloaded and installed the latest drivers for Win9x(Win98/98SE/ME) for my specific card" up-to-date? If the listed Monitor (in ControlPanel/System/DeviceManager) is not the same as your Monitor, correct that. Microsoft Knowledge base has a good 50-60 Troubleshooting tips for that particular program... if I had to guess though, I'd say your display resolution is set either too low or too high, try it at 800x600x16 and see what happens. Also try something with the stock pictures that came with the program. Next on the list is going into ControlPanel/System/Performance/Graphics and move the slider a notch to the left. Just a recap on a few points, followed by a WAG
Recap :- But ... the screen goes black and the light on the monitor ....shuts down then i press .. end task on PIP 2001. (Not quite sure how you do that with no display g - However..) When monitor comes back on the image seems to falter slightly. I am using ME oem with plenty of ram and space ... I tried a reinstall and it worked the first time but bout an hour later it happened again And, you've checked out your video drivers and settings. WAG :- Presumably, PIP is fairly "resource intensive" and I just wonder if you've got an 'iffy' stick of RAM in your box. Might be worth d/ling Simmtester's DocMemory and giving you RAM a bit of a thrash. You can d/l it from www.simmtester.com or http://www.simmtester.com/page/products/doc/docinfo.asp and create the boot disk from that (read instructions) - run it overnight. Can't do any harm - and *could* eliminate (or not!!) your RAM. Mart "grayman" wrote in message ... Monitor in device-manager is correct! Screen resolution is already set at 800x600x16! Set it temporarily to 60hz (can't go wrong) So what happened when you opened PiP up fresh and used one of the stock photos (which I'm assuming there are)... Have you got the rest of the Tiny funpack installed? and the video drivers...? (don't worry this will be the last time I ask this . ) Try it in Safe Mode if the program will even start Rick |

When screen goes black i pressed ctrl/alt/del the first
time and that started the monitor again and let me try a few things ie: end task/shut down etc. I will try your suggestions asap! thanks grayman -----Original Message----- Just a recap on a few points, followed by a WAG Recap :- But ... the screen goes black and the light on the monitor ....shuts down then i press .. end task on PIP 2001. Tried refresh rate but no joy!
Stock photo's seem ok but i cannot manipulate them ie: add anything. Not all apps installed just basics of Microsoft Works that i need Word/PIP 2001. Video driver was updated December 2004! Safe Mode it all seems to work fine. thanks grayman -----Original Message----- grayman wrote: Monitor in device-manager is correct!
