Default hp820cse installed, it tries to reinstall the printer at start up

I have a hp820cse and it is installed properly. So it seems. Every
time at start up, it tries to reinstall the printer. Again and again.
I have run the setup routine many times and still it senses the
printer and tries to install it. Anything I can do to fix this? Win98se

Ever since 95 came out and I learned a /little/ about it, I have
had Plug-and-Pray disabled in the BIOS or it would try to
install half of the hardware /already on the machine/, everytime
I booted. Now I have 98SE but I still fail to see ANY benefits
of PandP - you can ALWAYS install whatever you want without
Redmond uncles telling you when and how often.

Try it, this /might/ be the problem.

The setup routine provided by the manufacturer does not correctly install
the printer drivers, which is what the startup is detecting and complaining
about. The setup routine only installs the special software (which you
probably don't want anyway).

Follow the procedure to "Add a new Printer" and "Have disk" and navigate to
the location of the drivers. Select the correct drivers for the printer.
When complete, delete the old printer(s) and reboot.
