Default Cannot enable file and printer sharing

I recently purchased a used Thinkpad 560/ w W98SE off eBay, its the PC I'm
typing this on. The prior (corp it ) owner locked the computer down such
that I cannot enable file & printer sharing or windows update. I can connect
to the internet, but can't attach to local printers and share on home
workgroup.

Is there a way to remove these constraints? I have a Win98 SE CD, but
would prefer not to have go reinstall the OS to get around this.

Thanks in advance for any information,

Mark

I'm sorry I can't recall how I got out of that one. It was a while back.
