Default Writing a driver for Lexmark X73

How would a feller go about writing a driver for this
printer? When it prints (rarely), it is excellent quality.
The driver is the problem and the Lexmark boys are no help.
I really hate to thrown the printer out, so I'd like to find
out how to write a driver or where to get a 3rd party
version.

Thanks!

Fred

Start with the Microsoft DDK for your operating system, and the detailed
description of the device you are writing the drivers for. The MS DDK is
available from Microsoft or a programming software distributor (although the
W98 version might be hard to come by) while the detailed specifications for
the printer might be available from the manufacturer.
