Default What's the deal with MS05-002 (KB891711.EXE) and Windows 98?

If you're running Win 98, and have recently (within the past week)
gone to Windows Updates and updated your computer, you almost certainly
now have the file "KB891711.EXE" running in the background.

How can I determine whether it runs in the background on my system or
not? Will it show in the Task Manager?

The free process viewer, "Process Explorer", will report every executing
module:
www.sysinternals.com

If the Win Update patch is properly installed, KB891711.exe will be
executing.
And there will be a Windows\System\KB891711 folder with two files in it, a
..EXE and a .DLL.

The Windows Task Manger here is reporting the .EXE as running, also.

Like I said a few days ago, Task Info 2003 shows the EXE file but measures
only
0.4% CPU usage.
