Viewing Image files in Windows ME
Just completed a clean install of ME. It's on a friend's system that's
fairly sluggish so am trying to keep things lean. Have installed Office 2000, and included Microsoft's Photo Editor. Now, when opening any image file in Explorer (i.e. jpeg, gif, bmp etc.) it will open with Photo Editor. This of course, takes a lot longer to load than does the standard "viewer" that comes with ME. There is no option for "file associations" with Photo Editor to change viewing back to the ME default. Uninstalling Photo Editor leaves the image files with no associated program to open. Is there a simple way or registry edit to get opening an image file back to ME's default image viewer? Or do I have to manually configure each image file again through Explorer's "Tools-Folder Options-File Types-Open With..." Am a long time XP user, and have forgotten a lot of stuff about how ME works. Thanks in advance for any assistance given. Alex (Australia) |
