Hi,

You need to install a PCI Firewire Card, assuming that you have an open
PCI slot. Your operating system also needs to support Firewire, meaning
you need 98SE or higher, 98 "first edition" doesn't support it.

You can get a Firewire card at most retailers who sell computers and
peripherals or on-line by searching for "PCI Firewire Cards". Here is
just one example, so you know what you're looking for.

There are many available that also have USB 2.0 ports on the same card.

If you right-click "My Computer" and select properties from the menu,
the general tab will clearly tell you if you have Win 98 Second Edition.
Just so you know, if you have 98 first edition, upgrading to second
edition will cost you at least $75(U.S.).
