Default problems with opening a website

I bought a laptop and be connected on the net and when I opent Internet Explorer what comes up no problem but if I want to go to a nother website I only get a blank page...from MicroSoft Internet Explorer and in the bottom left corner "done"
I don't know what cost the problem but if a copy and paste the webaddress it wel works........ I hope that some one can give me any help with this.......
