How do you get to
In addition to the reply by RobetVA, you should note that task manager in 98
will not bring up all the available functions found in XP or Vista's task manager. The question might be: What are you trying to do? -- ~ -- MEB http://peoplescounsel.org/ref/windows-main.htm Windows Diagnostics, Security, Networking http://peoplescounsel.org The *REAL WORLD* of Law, Justice, and Government _______ "RobertVA" wrote in message ... writes: How do you get to task manager like how can do on a windows XP or vista As Mr. VA has said, if you just want to stop a process, Ctrl-Alt-Del is the way - but since that's one of the ways to do it under XP, I guess you'll have tried that. If you want to see what's using your CPU (and assorted other information), you need to run wintop (just enter it in the run box). If it isn't found, you need to install the Power Toys: according to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/188920, "Microsoft Windows 98 Power Toys [is] located on the Windows 98 CD-ROM in the Tools\Reskit\Powertoy folder." It used to be downloadable as well (as "Microsoft Kernel Power Toys for Windows 95 v2.5" - this works with 95/98/etc.), but most of the links don't seem to work now (if anyone has one that does, those here would probably appreciate it). -- J.
