DISK DEFRAGMENTER
Just curious. Does the disk defragmenter in Win 98
overwrite the empty space on the disk when it defragments? I know the defragmentation process reorganizes disk data so everything gets put back in its place for more efficient access, but what about overwriting empty space? Thanks. Bob |

DISK DEFRAGMENTER
Not explicitly. If the empty space is near the beginning of the drive the
defragmenter will move files into it, but it won't erase space it empties nor will it overwrite any unused space. -- Richard G.
