Fax help
I have the micro filter installed and It does not degrade the connection at
all. Thanks for your assistance. "Mike M" wrote: OK. Understood. I think that if you want to wire the HP4215 to the wall outlet rather than to the outlet on the back of the router/modem you will need to use a microfilter at the wall socket to isolate the frequencies used for the "phone service" (and hence also the fax) from those used for ADSL. Without a microfilter on the phone/fax cable the DSL signal to the router modem will be seriously degraded. -- Mike Maltby .. When the phone wire was connected, via splitter to the wall jack I would get no dsl signal. I since changed that wire to go into the splitter at the back of the versalink. With this configuration I am able to fax and recieve. From the HP web site I see that the HP4215 does indeed have its own built-in 33.6Kbps modem That is why I'm able to fax. Thanks for that interesting tidbit. |
