Default Using a wireless adapter

I recently set my computer back to factory settings and am trying to connect
a wireless g adapter. After many hours with my internet provider and the
manufacturer of the adapter, it has been determined that there must be some
glitch with Windows ME that does not allow me to connect. I am able to
connect with the router, but fail to connect to the internet. Does anyone
know how to get around this issue?
