Default PC can't Hibernate

I just installed Win98 SE on my computer and it can go to standby but no
hibernation. My harddrive has 7.00GB of total space. Or do I have to set up my
powersupply were windows knows what it is?

Your question is not clear. Does the Hibernate tab appear in Power
Management? If not you will need your computer's documentation for
instructions on how to enable that support. If support for hibernation is
enabled on your computer, then these articles include information that may
be helpful.

there is no hibernation in W9x OS-es built in; there are some MoBos
could do that (very rare) or proprietary solution like I saw on old
Compaq Laptop (Dos hibernation!).

Probably you are thinking STR (or STD) : suspend to ram or HD, but PC
is still awake (even if in "koma"). Hibernate was implemented IMHO
with Win2k & further - computer switches itself completelly off ...

You have to redifine the question; BTW does your keyboard have a
"power" key on it? Try pressing it to see if it goes to suspend (check
also Bios settings in power menagment section too!)
