I started with a startup disk to boot from floppy.
then copied all the start up files then the A: path came
then what?

Well, it depends what you want to do:
-- instal Windows from the CD;
-- run a DOS-based app e.g. AV;
and so on.

Screen display A: is the DOS
prompt when you are logged to the
floppy drive. This is normal.
