>Need cd-key OR to create a Bootable cd<
I have a bootable Win98 OS cd without the key that goes
along with it.(So that is doing me ABSOLUTELY no good) I also have a 98 bootdisk and a non-bootable Win98 cd. I know that with Nero (and other methods) there is a way to make a bootable cd as long as you have a burner and a blank CD-R. Now I have 2 questions... My 1st one is, can the 98 floppy bootdisk be used as the bootable floppy when I try to create the bootable Win98 cd? I have already tried with no success at all, so I'm thinking that I need another type of bootable floppy OR... I'm just out-right doing something wrong. I'm using Nero Express which gives the option of making a bootable cd. The 2nd question is, IS there an app. out there somewhere that will enable me to get the cd-key from the bootable 98 cd that I have? If anyone is able to kick me in the right direction with either one of these I would be more than grateful. THANX N ADVANCE. The Rookie/Wayne B. |

If the bootable floppy works for booting the PC then you can use it as the
bootable floppy when you try to create the bootable Win98 cd. If you have no success then perhaps the procedure you are using to create a bootable CD has some specific requirement for the floppy. The product key is not on the CD, so there is no way to extract it. You could try contacting Microsoft and explain the problem - they may be able to issue a replacement product key. -- Jeff Richards MS MVP (Windows - Shell/User) "Wayne B." wrote in message ...
