Install win98 usb hard drive
I have a notebook travelmate 520 , the ide channel is damage, i
connect a USB hard drive and i want to install win98. I found the right DOS driver and map the USB hard drive to C:\ I start the windows installation (Windows ask me the driver of the external device?) After this start the hardware recogniction procedure and windws crash with the error: "I can't write on c:\" Obviusly because it try to connect to the device and make confusion with the old driver? Have you an idea for example: Jump the hardaware recognition? Install linke a hard drive SCSI, i thik it is the same but USB. Include the driver in the W98 installation. Thank rmartin |
