Default Can I change the location of the temp folder to a different drive?

I have a small C drive, but a large D drive, can I set
the temp folder, or just the system, to use the D drive
for extractions, and setups etc...?

Open the registry editor to this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\
VolumeCaches\Temporary Files. In the right pane is a value called Folder.
Right-click it, select Modify and enter the path (D:\Temp) for the new Temp
folder you created. Open the Autoexec.bat file with Notepad, add these
entries and then save the file:
SET TEMP=D:\Temp
SET TMP=D:\Temp

C:\Windows\Temp seldom gets larger than the
Windows swap file (Device Manager / Performance / Virtual Memory)
and Temporary Internet Files (located by your browser / Options.)
You will want to assign both of these to D:
