Screen Size Mess Up!
When you've read my problem you might understand why I
can't use "search" to see if there's an answer already on the group about this. I'm on my mother's Win 98 machine; my own XP 'puter is 3000 miles away. This was my machine until I moved, so I sat down to remove programs my 70-year- old mother'll never use, and I saw that the display was set to 800x600. No prob, right? I went into Control Panel and slid the pointer on Settings over to 1024x768. I changed her desktop for her, too, then clicked Apply and restarted. But, to my great dismay, it restarted in in 640x480! I can't even get this entire message box on the screen, so please excuse any typos; I can't see 'em! I went back to Settings on the Display Control Panel, but the OK and Apply buttons won't appear on the monitor, and the window (message box, actually, I guess) can't be resized. I know how to fix it, I just can't get to the #$@^&! buttons. Any ideas? The computer's pretty much useless this way. She basically only uses it for email and games, but I still don't want to have taken even that little bit from her. Took YEARS to get her to even touch a computer! Thanks! |

You don't need to get to the OK or Apply button.
Make the change and hit the Enter key. ....Alan -- Alan Edwards, MS MVP W95/98 Systems http://dts-l.org/index.html In microsoft.public.win98.display.general, "Carolyn" wrote: When you've read my problem you might understand why I can't use "search" to see if there's an answer already on the group about this.
