Cannot create shortcut here?
Win98 SE
I have a desktop item that i am trying to move into my START list. As i drag it through the lists it gives the horizontal line which basically means that is where it would successfully drop. However when i reach the place I want (the startup directory, fwiw) and release the mouse button I get a dialogue box saying "Windows cannot create a shortcut here. Do you wish to create a desktop icon? Y/N. Since I have done the same thing dozens of times before, this baffles me. (Not just the Startup sub-folder, it will not drop onto the START list anywhere.) Any ideas? FACE |
