Intermittent Printer Sharing on Win98SE
Hello:
I am running a home network with Win98Se on both machines. One machine (host) has a HP550C printer on the Parallel Port. This machine is connected to a USR wireless Hub. The other (wireless) machine has a USR PCMCIA 802.11 card in it. The systems are setup using the Client for Microsoft networks. The network works just fine MOST of the time. SOMETIMES (just sometimes) when sending a print job from the wireless machine, I get a message that the printer is set offline and cannot print. The print job then gets stuck in the print queue of the wireless machine. The printer is of course on, online and operates normally from the host machine. Why this intermittency? Any ideas? TomCee btw, sometimes the drive which is shared (on the host machine) shows up (on the wireless machine) with a red X through it, although, I can still connect to it and use it. |
