Default error message # 0x800CCC0F

Just FYI.....
Got this error message when accessing my email this morning. After a
little investigation, it was determined that "snoozing" EZ AV, then
accessing email, allowed the messages to come through. One of the messages
was highly suspect as virus laden, however, I did not run a scan on
it.....just deleted it.
After doing the above, further email came in without a problem. Can't
explain it, just wanted to post the resolution.
Heirloom, old and, like me, it just needed a snooze.

I should mention that I realize this does not put EZ AV at fault.......it
could be an interaction between EZ AV and any one of the myriad of other
apps I have monitoring email, i.e. ZAPro.

Hi, Heirloom,

This is a definite possibility. I keep email protection off in ZA Pro.
EZAV has usually identified (and deleted) any infected attachments in
email. Fortunately, it's been quite a while since anything nasty came
through the inbox.

Hey Tom,
Yep, it has been ages since I have seen a nasty.......and that was
before going to EZ AV. Ol' Norton used to throw it in your face and EZ just
quietly disposes of it.....I like that.
I figure it must have had something to do with a particular message
on the server.....the only way I can explain the fact that putting EZ in
'snooze', dl'ding the email and then waking EZ, put everything back to
normal.....have been getting mail just fine ever since. I leave the email
protection 'on' in ZAPro, mainly because the wife checks email and you never
know when someone has hidden an extension to an attachment or some other ill
deed that ZAP would catch. I did turn off the email protection in ZAP first
and still got the error message, of course, I didn't shut ZAP down
altogether, so, nothing was proven.
Heirloom, old and just a senile observation

Heirloom:

You didn't say whether any text came with that error number you mention, did
it? And if so, what was it?
Just for de facto purposes, mind you.

Harry, not on purpose, just out of couriosity.

I don't remember the message........something to the effect of being
"disconnected from the server.....may be due to server
problems......firewall misconfigurations........the plague.......nuke blast"
Probably the same message you had....same stuff that is located at the KB
site for the error.....
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;813514
If I get it again, I'll be sure to copy it for you.

That's what I thought, Heirloom.
I tried the things you mention and some, but there was no joy for me.
Right now I am ok. with what I've got.
When I decide to format and reinstall, I will get back to my EZ Armor and
see what happens.
Before I do that it might be a good idea to check with CA about a bad
download of the program and have it redone, if they agree.
Meanwhile I am enjoying my time in the sun.

Harry, old and must get an eye full.

Harry,
I must ask a favor from you, being as nice as I possibly can.......would
you please make some effort to create an original tag line. I know I have
no claim to it, other than I gave birth to it and have been nurturing it for
years....folks in the NG know me by it. Surely, you are able to come up
with something even better. I would appeciate any effort on your part.
Thank you.
Heirloom, old and would like to keep what little is
mine.

I never thought you'd ask the question,

My sincerest apologies, Heirloom.
The copyright didn't occurr to me with the emphasis being on "old", I
thought.
No more "tagging along" for me.
Sorry about that.

Harry, must I?
