"Explorer Caused error..." & lost mouse - Help
I use Windows ME, Enternet Explorer 6 and Earthlink Total
Access 2004. Have Norton Anti-virus in use. Believe my problems started with all the ad/spywear that's been around. Downloaded Webroot anti-spyware. Began getting dialog box each time computer boots saying "Explorer has caused an error in ~8272807082.tmp. Explorer will now close." Sometimes it would say instead "...caused an erroe in unknown." If you click close, it shuts down windows. I've been able to move the box to the side almost out of sight and continue working. But now my mouse isn't working. It boots up in Safe mode, but can't do anything without the mouse. I did use the windows startup disk and was able to do a scandisk from the dos prompt. Didn't help. Don't know if there is anything else I can do in dos to help. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Ray |
