Easy CD creator 5

I have had easycd creator 5 basic on my compaq 4508 for some time now and it worked great untill now running win 98se

when I try to copy a cd it comes up with

disk copier cannot find creator api please reinstall creato api

I removed & re installed CD Creator I re installed the external UPS CD burner drive I downloaded the Creator 5 update

As far as I can tell all of Creator works except disk copier even to the point of when I eject a disk creator asks how I want the disk made

I have copied files to a CD and read them on another computer

What do I need to do to restore creatorapi?

Are you saying that you are trying to burn to disk on an external USB drive
using Easy Creator?

Are you saying that you are trying to burn to disk on an external USB drive
using Easy Creator?

Alan It is a usb port cdrw drive I have used it on this macine before it will write to the CD but won't copy CD's comes up with above error
