I hope this is the right newsgroup

I can't seem to remove McAfee, They have not helped me in
the past with reinstalling what ever might be missing so I
bought a NORTON and want to install it. I have been told
to make sure McAfee is out of my system completely, but it
won't let me. I have done the Add/Remove with McAfee
VirusScan home Edition it has Error1722 Problem with
windows installer package a program run as of of the setup
did not finish as expected. And Virus Scan Home Edition
error loading c:/window/mcbin/av/mcsetup.dll THANKS

Talk about going from bad to worse, Norton is a worse pig than McAfee, DONT
install Norton, there are better, cheaper programs. If you feel you must use
the Norton product then definitely dont let it do a default install, all the
extra optional crap is even worse than NAV.

And of those two, I would suggest eTrust.

AVG to date does NOT identify the latest sasser worm.
For some time now there updates have not been keeping
up with. eTrust is doing a much better job of it.
