Default Shrunken display area on monitor

Sometimes when my kids play a CD game on the computer, the
display area in the monitor (a flat screen) is shrunken so
there is 1 or 2 inch black area on the perimeter of the
screen. Sometimes the shrunken screen goes back to full
screen when the game is removed, but other times the
screen remains shrunken after the game is removed. If
that happens, the only way I have been able to fix the
problem is to do a system restore. Are there any other
remedies?

Thanks.

Default

Use the Display Properties (r-click on a blank area of teh desktop, select
Properties) and chenge the screen size back to the default setting -
probably 1024x768 or 1260x1024
