Default device files

I get a black screen stating that I'm missing device files
SHLDDRV.EXE and SHLDDRV.VXD The windows registry or
SYSTEM.INI file refers o this device file but the device
file no longer exists. Help!!!

I would go to RUN, type: regedit and click OK. When the
registry editor opens, click on Edit and do a Find on the file names. Once
found, export the key (click on Registry) to make a back up (.reg file) so
you can replace the info if needed. Then right click the entry in the right
pane of the editor and delete it. Press F3 to continue the search.

I am having the same problems with my computer. I ran a
defrag and a scandisk and found nothing. Have you
received any answers?
