Total Memory(Bytes)
Hi
I want to know the Total Memory(Bytes). As there is no such performance counter available in System performance viewer. The performance counter available a Available Bytes, Committed Bytes, ..... etc... Do we need to add all of these to get the total memory in bytes? Let me know ASAP. Thanks in advance. Total Memory(Bytes)
Total memory would include virtual memory (the swap file), the size of which
would be governed by the amount of free space on the partition (up to 2 gb which is the largest a swap file can be). What do you really want to know--the amount of ram installed? I also don't know what product (System performance viewer) you are using as your description is not familiar to me. -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP for W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo wrote in message oups.com... Total Memory(Bytes)
Hi Ron Bad,
As you know there are different Performance counters available for getting Memory values. Few are listed below: 1. Memory - Available Bytes 2. Memory - Pool Nonpaged Allocs 3. Memory - Pool Nonpaged Bytes 4. Memory - System Cache Resident Bytes 5. Memory - Committed Bytes... etc. By using the System Performance Viewer (perfmon.msc), you can get the values for the physical memory using the above performance counters. But as you see, there is no performance counter that gives us the value for Total Memory. For calculating Total Memory, Do we need to add all the above performance counter (Perf counters related to Memory) values or add some of them to get the total memory? Thanks for replying, Regards, Pramod |

Total Memory(Bytes)
This is a Win98 group....you are referring to perfmon.msc, which is on NT-kernel
operating system (WinXP, Win2k). Please post to the correct group. -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP Shell/User, A+ http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm wrote in message oups.com...
