Default Clean Install of ME

I reformatted my Maxtor 30GB HDD using fdisk. I set up
the primary DOS partition and put in the ME startup disk.
The diagnostic tools are loaded to D: and the CDROM drive
is lettered E: When I type setup.exe at the E: prompt I
receive a message to hit enter to continue with setup.
The setup briefly starts ( about 2 seconds) then I receive
a message saying Windows requires 1567266 bytes on drive
C: and takes me back to the A: prompt. I think for some
reason, Windows is calling my primary partition D: instead
of C: I have gone to fdisk and deleted the primary
partition and reformatted it, but the same thing happens.
I even tried setup with a different smaller HDD...same
thing. It's been a long time since I used any DOS
commands so maybe I'm just entering something wrong. Can
anyone help?

After you ran FDISK did you remember to format the C: drive?
