No auto-run for music cd
Trying to help with a W98 1st edition computer.
She has a single CD-RW drive that used to play music CDs or open an Install CD when you inserted a new disk. Then, no CD would auto-open or auto-run when inserted. I checked the CD drive properties and Auto-Start was checked. I then downloaded and installed TweakUI and set it for automatically run data disk and music disk Now the installation data disks will auto-start, but music disks just open and display the music tracks. I can't get it to start Media Player and play the music when I insert the disk. You have to double click the track icon to get it to play. We don't have an update disk to update her computer to W98SE yet. (Will try ebay for one). So we could not upgrade her Media Player to version 9. Don't know if that would even solve the problem. Does anyone know of any other tweaks to get the CD to automatically recognize a music CD and autostart Windows Media Player and play the disk? |

Run regedit and look at the default value under this key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AudioCD\shell\play\command It should read- "C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe" /device:AudioCD "%L" Windows Media Player command line parameters- http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...parameters.asp |
