Default antivirus

My McAfee has expired and I cannot renew it online as they don't support the
old version. Which means I have to go to a store and buy new software. I was
thinking of Norton as that seems to be popular. I know there's a free
version called AVG. Is it any good? I'm looking for something that won't
conflict with Win98 or with any of my apps. I use ZoneAlarm as my firewall.

I am using AntiVir Personal Edition on Win98 SE. It's free, and you don't
have to register. You'd better have broadband, since the updates are big.

A lot of people like AVG and they say that the free Beta ver 7 is
really working well.
Here is a link if you would like to try it:

I agree with "AlmostBob".
Norton translates to "How to screw your PC up,fast"
AVG from Grisoft is a good solid program.
But what ever you get be sure to do regular updates.
Manually prefered.
Do do depend on any program to do it's update
automatically.

I use Avast personal edition and am happy with it. I used
ETrust before and was happy with it too. As far as I know,
after the initial purchase price, their yearly renewal is
still $10.
