Help! Windows95 and Windows ME home network
Can anyone give me or tell me where to get instructions to
set a basic home network? I've been trying with no luck for well over a month. I've found instructions on the net on how to configure but nothing seems to work. I have a laptop with ME and a PC Card with a doggle(sp?) cable. My desktop has Win95, and I have installed a LAN Card which I believe has installed correctly. That came with a network cable and two point thing (not sure what its called but to connect two cables together). I also have a crossover 5e cable (rj-45). I have successfully setup a network on both computers but they won't communicate. I need instructions on how to configure, which adapters and protocols are needed and exactly which cables I should be using. Any help would be appreciated - I have files I desperately need to transfer from my laptop to the pc as my laptop is in need of repair, but the files are far two big to transfer via disk. Help! Thanks
