Default Need Help with Word

As of a few days ago, I can no longer access "Tools" when
in Word. Also, when I try to close Word, I always get an
error message. It can be either of these 2 messages but
usually the first.
Message 1
MS Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error
This application has requested the runtime to terminate it
in an unusual way.
Message 2
Winword has caused an error in MSVCRT.DLL. Winword will
now close.
I would really appreciate your help. Thanks.

Hi Canada......this is a wild guess, but have you recently put either a
Yahoo or Google toolbar on your computer? That is the only time I ever got
the MSVCRT.DLL error......for what it is worth. If so, remove it.

Cheers.....Heather (Ontario)

Default Need Help with Word

Hi Canada to you too Heather. I also come from Ontario
but I've lived in BC for the last 30 yrs.

Thanks for your help. I finally fixed my problem with
Word late last night - found a Word troubleshooting
article on the Microsoft website. I renamed the Global
template and voila, everything works hunky-dory. These
computers never cease to amaze me. As for your question,I
don't have either of those toolbars so it couldn't have
been that in any case.
Cheers, Nicole
