Default Installing Windows 98

I am passing on an older computer to my sister and wanted to give her a
"clean" computer. my son tried to remove the programs and in the process
deleted something that is needed by W98 to start. I have a Windows 98 CD but
there is no setup file on it. I need a floppy disk with the setup portion
that will access the needed files on the CD. Where can I get one or how do I
get around it. Thanks

If you are saying there is no setup.exe file on the W98 CD, then it is
probably a Companion CD and cannot be used to install W98. You can try to
locate a copy on the internet or an auction site like EBay.

If there is a setup.exe file on it (do a search), then you will need a
floppy start up disk which you can make with the Fat32ebd.exe file located
on the W98 CD: tools/mtsutil/fat32ebd

I've only heard of Win95 Companion CDs however the following site might
prove useful:
