Install USB Flash Drive
I am attempting to setup a system running 98SE to read/write to a flash
drive. I have installed the driver for the USB port (it shows in Device Manager) and installed the flash drive driver for 98SE that came with the flash drive. For both the system indicated that the driver installation was successful. Yet when I insert the flash drive into either of the USB ports I get nothing. Windows Explorer does not show the flash drive I would appreciate any thoughts on what I may not have done properly? Marv. |

Install USB Flash Drive
Your best bet may be tech support of the company who makes the flash drive.

If Ron's suggestion does not pan out, install these updates from Microsoft, reboot
and see if they help: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=253697 and http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=240075 -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP Shell/User, A+ http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm "Marv Wade" wrote in message ... I know the flash drive itself works just fine as I use it on other systems
running XP. I thought there might be some special issues when trying to run it on 98SE. Marv "Ron Badour" wrote in message ... Install USB Flash Drive
If there are issues with W98, the tech support section would be the best
position to know about them. There are lots of memory sticks that work with W98 providing there is a W98 driver. -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP for W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo "Marv Wade" wrote in message ... You should definatly contact tech support, cause I had a similar
problem, and it turned out I needed an updated driver which i downloaded from their website. |
