Default Problem with drivers for camcorder

Just bought JVC GR D60EK camcorder and trying to download
pics from memory card. Instructions advise that USB mass
storage class driver already installed a spart of windows
me. Attached via USB but removable disk icon not showing
in "my computer"
Updated device manager as instructed and installed
software from JVC USB driver disc which contains
Digital Photo navigator,
G.726 decoder
Image mixer with VCD Ver 1.1

Still no removable disc icon in my computer. When
connecting cam error message came up when PC was
recognising new hardware USBNTMAP.sys not found and asked
me insert windows me disc. Did this still nothing
happening. I think I am missing USB Mass storage class
driver still and would know how to re install can anyone
help?

usbntmap.sys and usbstor.sys are, with most other usb related files, in
the "cab" files in the Win9x folder on the Win Me CD and also in either
Windows\Options\Cabs or the Windows\Options\Install folder and not
directly visible in Explorer. Look for the folder containing the file
BASE2.CAB. When the installer asks for files point it towards the folder
containing the file BASE2.CAB. Regrettably companies such as Compaq made
a complete botch of things when they installed Win Me and in many cases
removed the cab files resulting in continual problems for their users when
adding hardware.

See MS KB 265371 - "How to Extract and Replace a Protected File in
Windows Me" (http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=265371) for details of how
to manually extract files from the cab set. Alternatively use MSConfig |
General | Extract File... and follow the prompts to extract a new copy of
the required files to your windows\system32\drivers folder . Most USB
related files can be found in BASE2.CAB although some are located in
other cabs.

Alternatively you could visit
http://www.usb-drivers.com/drivers/63/63237.htm and download usb-WinMe.exe
which contains Win Me's usb related files. Extract the files you want and
put them in windows\system32\drivers.
