Mouse pointer drifting
I wonder whether anyone can advise me. Over recent weeks I have been getting
increasing problems with the mouse pointer drifting to the top or bottom of the screen, and more recently there being a delay of about 2 secs. in responding to mouse movements. This is intermittent and does not seem to coincide with other specific and obvious programs or processes. I have a Toshiba 3000 Satellite laptop running WindowsME, 128 + 256mb RAM, Pentium PIII, Belkin Mini Optical Scroll Mouse connected by USB. I have done the following to try to correct the problem: cleaned mouse lenses tried mouse on different mats and surfaces tried a standard mouse (still occurs) updated display and mouse drivers from manufacturers websites reduced hardware acceleration adjusted mouse speed settings in control panel rebooted frequently (problem still there after reboot) I have the feeling that this is something to do with the OS or drivers but any advice on what else to consider, or how else to diagnose this problem would be very welcome! TIA |

TIA Hmmm.....Seems as if the patented Accupoint pointer button had got jammed and was interfering. Never mind, a good diagnostic exercise, and thanks to those that read this post. |
