Default ERROR real mode system memory allociation failed

Ok I am stumped, I added dsl service to my computer and
it ran fine that day. I turned it off at the end of the
day and when I booted it up the next day I received a
ERROR "real mode system memory allociation failed". What
caused this

Unless it has repeated, it was probably just a transient error. These things
happen. If it's repeating every time you start up, it would appear that your
hardware needs some trouble-shooting.

Which is it? One-time-only, or repeating?
