hanging when I go to shut down

Default hanging when I go to shut down

on numerous occassions, not always, when I go to the start
button in the lower left hand corner, to shut down my
machine, my computer freezes and I must press ctl alt
delete twice in order to restart my machine. The the
start button works.

Anybody else have this problem

help!!!!!!!!1 this is very frustrating!!!!!!!!!
