Problem installing win98

When i purchased a DELL Pc. it came with a win 98CD but i
did not install it. instead i purchased and installed a
winXP professional.I own an other computer that runs on
win95.
so i deleted win 95 and tried to install win 98. but when
i type in the product key the computrer does not
accept.says the product key is not correct.what may be
the problem. its an original WIN98 CD with the setup
floppy that came with dell.

Check that you are typing the correct key - for instance 0 and O or I and 1
or 8 and B.

Also check the software license that came with the DELL. You might find
that the software is for use only with the machine with which it was
supplied. If that's the case, DELL might have prevented it loading on
another machine - the point where the product key is entered would be a
logical place to include the machine check.
