Yo Mo......I have never used the cache.....I prefer not to have java junk on
here. However.....is it needed? Haven't used it for the past 3
incarnations and don't imagine that it is. Mine was rather huge when I
first discovered it, so I disabled it.

Cheers....Figgs

L.B. ,

Open Internet Options in the Control Panel and then click the
Advanced tab. Scroll down to the Java section and make sure that the
Sun package is checked and that the MS one is UNchecked.
*Sometimes* the video display adapters may need updating ( check
with the adapter's manufacturer's web site for a newer driver ) and
*sometimes* the java package may be corrupted during installation
due to an antivirus program running in the background during the
install ( hello, Norton ? ).
Also, check the size of the java cache by going to Java Plug-in in
the Control Panel, clicking the Cache tab, and reducing it to 10 MB.
A corrupted cache *may* cause this behavior.

Heather, I uninstalled the 05 version, then installed the 06 versions,

Java. Any more ideas?

When my original ME Java became inopeable I installed Sun Java SE

VI.

4.2 _ 05, which worked fine for about one year. Now when I go to a

web
page that involves Java my system freezes. Thanks for any solutions or
suggestios.
