fatal exception

On shutdown a blue screen appears with the following
Fatal Exception OE 0028:co29f948 in VXD VWIN32
+000012do

also
Fatal Exception OE 0028 :C0005338 in VXD VMM(01)
+00004338

I am not too computer literate as yet & would
welcome any help in solving this problem.

Definitely, try... "START, Run, MSConfig, Advanced button". Check
"Disable fast shutdown", if there. The item won't be there, if you have
downloaded a certain patch from Windows Update.
