Default Slipstreaming 98SE?

OK now MS have finished all support for my much loved 98SE (he says in xp
right now) I would like to create a 98SE CD with all the critical updates
slipstreamed in and maybe the recommended updates as well but that is not
vital, I basically want a CD that will allow me to do a fresh install of
98SE and be as safe as possible to go online (if you get my drift).

If you have time browse the following web site. It is unofficial but it has
all the information and more.
Main Page - http://www.mdgx.com/ scroll down to "Windows 98/98 SE + DOS 7"
Tips and Secrets - http://www.mdgx.com/98-5.htm
There is tons of other info there as well. What he does also offer is a
complete pack of all the updates for download.

The Windows Update site will be available until at least July 11, 2007
for 98, 98SE and ME so you still have some time left.

Thanks Dan but I'm looking for a way of slipstreaming all the updates in
98SE, so if I format and then need to reinstall the OS it will be as up to
date as possible without the need to go online, right now I have update from
corp site but would love to as I say slipstream these into a new 98 disc,
thanks for links Alan will check these out now.

It can't be done - Windows 2000 and XP are the only Windows OSes that
support slipstreaming.

That would be ideal and I would do this in a minute, but
worst case would be to d/l all updates and burn to CD, so I'll
only need two CDs; one for install and another for update and
no need to go online after install.

Saga

Other than the fact that only the later NT based OSes support streaming, you
also need a service pack to slipstream.

Install 98SE, the updates, but not any 3rd party software or drivers. Strip
any hardware while in safe mode in device manager. Image this partition.
Save the image to external media for safe keeping.

Head over to the Windows 9x forums at msfn.org
(http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showforum=8), and look at some of the
projects they have going on, including the ones in the subforum. There is one
thread currently there about slisptreaming Windows 98, we'll see what, if
anything, comes out of it.

Default Slipstreaming 98SE?

Pulled this from an old thread in this discussion group, though I never
tried to use it, or even checked the file(s)/link. (No idea who submitted
it.)
I just pulled the link and a short description of what it was "supposedly"
for and saved it to txt. Let us know what this is, if it interests you, or
whether it is what your looking for.
